What the hell's been happening with Big Finish?

Here it is - the Big Finish catchup article I promised ages ago. So stop yer moaning.

The headlines tonight:

TOM NEWSOM DOES ART FOR THEM NOW
A recent development but our Tom, who writes relatively regularly (though not as regularly as we would all like) for this website now does pretty front covers for Big Finish. So far there's only two, but I'm 100% confident there will be more along soon.

Here's the first two (click for larger, obviously).

Quite nice, aren't they? Hopefully the powers that be will come to their senses and hire the real talent on this site before too long. No, not you Matt!

YOU CAN SEND IN A STORY THAT MIGHT POSSIBLY BE MADE
As a tribute to much-loved Producers' Assistant Paul Spragg who tragically passed away two years ago, Short Trips producer Ian Atkins has launched the first annual open submissions competition.

Fans and budding authors can submit their stories to Big Finish now, with one lucky writer getting their story commissioned and recorded by BF head honcho Nicholas Briggs and released at the end of the year.

To enter, you must submit a single-page synopsis and the opening page of the story, amounting approximately 1000 words together. You have until the end of the month and can enter multiple times by emailing competitions@bigfinish.com with a Word document (.doc or .docx) or a PDF.

Full rules are here, and you can donate to the fundraising page for the British Heart Foundation set up in Paul's name here.

NEW THINGS
So November's looking pretty busy, considering that there's already a main range Doctor Who, a Short Trip, the second lot of Avengers Comic Strip Adaptations, the fifth series of Survivors and an Early Adventure, as well as at least some of Dark Shadows' Bloodline (most likely).

Some exciting stuff in there. Go and pre-order it if it grabs your interest. Or don't if you don't fancy it - we don't make any money from these free ads for BF.

OTHER
The next series of Graceless has been postponed to January. Think that's about it.

Hope this was helpful. Please do let me know either way.
