Fans to Hear More from River and Churchill

Big Finish have just announced three sequel box sets for 2017.

Coming next January is The Diary of River Song - Volume 2. As with the first, the second series will comprise four episodes but whereas this year's release saw River meeting up with just the one Doctor (Paul McGann's), 2017 will see her crossing paths with both Sylvester McCoy and Colin Baker's incarnations.

The official synopsis given so far is below - and see the cover art from Tom Webster on the right.
From the space exploration vessel Saturnius – which is heading to a destination that never gets any closer – to a doomed planet Earth and beyond, River’s journey will bring her closer to a new foe... and an encounter with both the Sixth and Seventh Doctors.
The four episodes are The Unknown by Guy Adams, Five Twenty Nine by John Dorney, World Enough and Time by James Goss and Eye of the Storm by Matt Fitton. Alex Kingston of course returns to the title role. A full list of guest stars is available at the product page, where you can also pre-order.

Also out next January is the second volume of The Churchill Years, which will apparently see Ian McNeice's take on the character recounting even more tales from his adventures with the Doctor. Popular speculation has it that Churchill will this time tell stories of encounters with 'classic' Doctors.

Finally for today's new announcements, there is also to be a second round of Classic Doctors, New Monsters. The first set is out this July and will see the Fifth Doctor facing off against the Weeping Angels, the Sixth Doctor encountering the Judoon, the Seventh battling the might of the Sycorax empire, and the Eighth Doctor meeting the Sontarans on the periphery of the Time War.

Big Finish have also uploaded the trailer for what looks to be a very exciting series of Gallifrey, released this May. Titled Enemy Lines, the series spans six half-hour episodes, all written by celebrated Big Finish veteran David Llewellyn. The official description is as follows:

In the distant future, President Romanadvoratrelundar will do anything it takes to save her world, even if it means sacrificing her allies and friends...
In the distant past, President Romanadvoratrelundar will also do anything it takes to save her world, even if it means sacrificing her own life in the process…
Unfortunately for Romana, there is no easy option.
With the threat of impending war, and negotiations still ongoing, the Temporal Powers are growing restless. Every day, they find their future slipping away from them. Every decision they make proves critical. And no one can escape the fact that sacrifices have to be made...
Time is running out, and it’s running straight to Gallifrey.
This looks to be a very exciting release, and certainly one of our most anticipated of 2016 here at Kro Towers. Listen to the newly-released trailer below.

That's it for this latest round-up but come back for some very exciting news about the next Bernice Summerfield box set tomorrow.
